Breaking down Naezy’s 302

Usually every Eid is always a Salman Khan moment. Bhai’s biggest hits have always been Eid releases. Come this Eid and we saw a different release. This time it was another Bhai the Rap Bhai, Naved Shaikh a.k.a. Naezy. True to his star sign Leo Naezy has roared again with his new track called ‘302’where he sets the record straight and gives us the perfect introduction to his alter ego ‘302’, who has only one objective - to murder beats with his rhymes.

Obviously the name ‘302’ is scandalous as it is the numerical number of Indian IPC which deals with instances in murder. According to section 302 of Indian penal code, whoever commits murder shall be punished with death or imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to fine. So Naezy has picked up this number to symbolize that he is a murderer of beats and boy he does kill it.

The track release under the label Big Bang Records is different from his other tracks with the Record. This time Naezy has a message and he is not stopping before he tells it to everyone. The beats are definitely characteristic of G funk style that was popular in West coast gangsta Rap scene of 90s. However the Icing on the Cake is the Beat change that happens and that’s such a sweet surprise you almost forget it’s the same Rapper.  Beat changes like this synonymous with Eminem who does it flawlessly and swings the mood of the listener in a direction that he desires.  Once you focus on flow of the song, you'll have a different level of respect for this song. It’s like the Might Ganges flowing from Gangotri unhindered till its reaches the end in Bay of Bengal ignoring everything on the way. Just like in the Lyrics he says he is ignoring everyone who is trying to pull him down. 

Coming to the Lyrics, it’s an extremely well written lyric capturing the mood of India at present. Naezy has a knack of Kabeer Das, he too used minimum words in his ‘doha’ (couplets) to drive out a big message. No wonder they say brevity is the soul of wit and Naezy is the wittiest among them all.  The lyric has soul and wings both at the same time. It takes you to the bottom of human emotions and at the same time puts you high in the flight of your imagination. Of course due to the Lockdown, It’s a single art work release; I would however love to see if ever a video version is released.  Within first 15 hours of its release it has already garnered 151,183 views and over 2500 comments which are growing by the second.  

Some people are upset with shackles that the Lockdown has brought in their life; however Naezy looks at the lockdown differently. He urged people to stay indoors with the 'Khamakha' video where he put out the narrative through footage of the city during the lockdown captured by a drone.  You can see the Song here.

Naezy has taught us that we all have the same cup of water, it’s up to us to look at the cup half full or Half empty.  The lyric is given below:
